Fiction: Bloody Lousy Date

The hair was perfect. At least to me, it looked perfect. After all, I have combed it a hundred times in the last five minutes. Tonight’s the night.

I have no idea how it came to be that Eliza, the foxiest, sexiest, hottest, coolest girl in school would even deem to look at me, much less agree to watch a movie with me! Oh, lucky lucky me.

You see, I have never gone on a date. Well, when my classmates go out, I am invited. It is not that I am a shy, quiet type. It’s just that I am not a gorgeous hunk nor a brilliant arty type. I am just another middle-of-the-road kind of guy.

So, tonight’s the night. I finally have my dream date. My first real date. A single date. And, it is with a gorgeous, to-die-for, girl of my dreams.

It’s now five. I am supposed to meet her at seven. It’s alright, I like to be early. Be prepared, you know.

There she was. I picked her up in my car at the corner of the street near her house. I wonder why
